A Glen Ellyn man appeared in DuPage County court Friday for what police say is his eighth drunken driving offense, this one stemming from a Halloween night arrest by Glendale Heights police.

Online registration will close Tuesday at 5 p.m. for the local 5k race held on Thanksgiving morning. Same day registration will be available at the Tivoli. Founded in memory of Jim Bonfield, the annual event is held to raise money and awareness to help build character and community commitment. The Foundation is dedicated to finding students of good character who have shown persistence in overcoming lifes obstacles and rewarding them with grants to continue their education after High School. The first two scholarships were awarded in May of 2004 and plans continue to expand the program in perpetuity.

After three years of orange barrels, concrete barricades and warning signs, work finally is wrapping up on the multimillion-dollar renovation and widening effort along a 23-mile span of the Reagan Memorial Tollway from Oak Brook to North Aurora.
